Astros return to five-man rotation
Posted by GameSetMatch on July 8th, 2009
For the past week and a half the Astros have been using a six-man rotation, but with just five full games — and the completion of a suspended game — remaining on the schedule before the All-Star break, manager Cecil Cooper is reverting back to a five-man rotation, beginning with Mike Hampton’s victory over the Pirates on Monday.
Wandy Rodriguez will take the mound in the series finale against Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park. When the Nationals come to town for the Astros final series before the break, Houston will go with Russ Ortiz on Thursday, Roy Oswalt on Friday, Hampton on Saturday and Brian Moehler on Sunday.
